MEET OUR PASTOR & FIRST LADY

District Elder Howard E. Walker, M. Ed., Church Founder, Senior Pastor & CEO
Pastor Howard Walker founded The Christ Apostolic Church in July 2003. As a church founder Pastor Walker, by the providence of the Almighty God, follows (100 years later) in the footsteps of his great-grandfather, Henry Walker, who founded a church in 1903 in the Longview, Texas area (that church is still in operation today! Former slave and church founder Henry Walker's gravesite is located on the grounds of the church in which he founded).
Pastor Walker was born in Boley, Oklahoma and was schooled in Boley and Oklahoma City. He is a graduate of Frederick A. Douglass High School, a cum laude graduate of Oklahoma City University, and attended the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma and currently hold Principal Certification in the State of Oklahoma. Pastor Walker has taught at every level: early childhood, elementary, intermediate, middle school, high school and adult education. Pastor Walker has served as an administrator at his high school alma mater; and has been both a teacher and "a teacher of teachers, school principals and central office administrators!" (To God be all the glory!)
At the age of nineteen, Pastor Walker gave his life to Christ Jesus and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and filled with the Holy Ghost. Pastor Walker worked faithfully in the same church and was never a member of any other church except the one God called him to found: The Christ Apostolic Church, Inc. (P.A.W.). His pastor is the Honorable Suffragan Bishop Emeritus Charles W. Meadows, Sr.
In 1987, Pastor Walker married the love of his life and partner in Christian ministry, Sister Judith C. (Whitfield) Walker. Pastor Walker is blessed to be the husband of First Lady Walker; the father of three sons: Howard, Jr. (Akisha), David (Lajuanda) and John; and the grandfather of two grandchildren: Kristian and Joseph.
Moveover, District Elder Walker is blessed to be one of God's servants, our pastor and the Pastor of The Christ Apostolic Church, Inc. (PAW)! Pastor Walker currently serves as a board member and lay director of the Executive Board of the Oklahoma State Council Fellowship of Churches, 26th Episcopal District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc., and on various other committees in the Oklahoma State Council Fellowship of Churches, which is under the leadership of the Honorable Diocesan Bishop Jeffery Davis Goldsmith. In June of 2019, the Honorable Bishop Jeffery Davis Goldsmith elevated Pastor Howard Walker to the office of District Elder.

First Lady Judith C. Walker
First Lady Walker was born in Kokomo (Howard County), Indiana and was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost as a pre-teen and served under the pastorate of the late Honorable Suffragan Bishop Rufus C. Mills.
First Lady Judith Walker met "the love of her life", our own pastor, District Elder Howard E. Walker, M. Ed., during a PAW National Convention in Houston, Texas in the early 1980's. District Elder Walker proposed to First Lady Walker in St. Louis, she accepted his marriage proposal in Denver, Colorado; they were married in her hometown of Kokomo, Indiana in June of 1987. In 1994, she gave birth to "the new love of her life", Brother John Thomas Walker. Along with being a wonderful loving wife and nurturing loving mother, First Lady Walker is also a loving stepmother and step-grandmother.
In her home state of Indiana, First Lady Walker served in the ABSA as District Youth President for the Northeastern District and also as local youth president at her home church. First Lady Walker also served as a Sunday School Teacher and was Sunday School Teacher to a nationally-renowned young man by the name of Brother Tavis Smiley, former host of The Tavis Smiley Show. Another of her former Sunday School students has gone on to become the current pastor of the church where she was a member for so many years.
First Lady Walker is a graduate of Kokomo High School and attended the University of Indiana-Kokomo; and also Rose State College (Midwest City, Oklahoma).
After moving to Oklahoma, First Lady Walker was employed at the University of Oklahoma for more than 20 years, working in the Parking and Transportation Department; and later in the Security Department at the University of Oklahoma's Sam Noble Museum of Natural History. Currently, First Lady Walker is employed as a Security Specialist in the Oklahoma City Public Schools.
At the State level, First Lady Walker served as the Secretary of the Oklahoma State Missionary Auxiliary of the Oklahoma State Council Fellowship of Churches (PAW). Currently, First Lady Walker serves as the Treasurer of the Oklahoma Christian Education Auxiliary of the Oklahoma State Council Fellowship of Churches.
At the Local level, First Lady Walker serves as the Church Secretary and Treasurer for The Christ Apostolic Church, Inc. (PAW)...and as the "Bishop of the Choir" as she puts it. (This is evidence of her vibrant sense of humor!)
First Lady Walker loves people, especially God's people! She is one of those "rare and hard to find virtuous women" spoken of in Proverbs 31; she is a great role model for women young and old and we are blessed to have her as the First Lady of The Christ Apostolic Church!
